About me and my practice

About Me

Hello, Im Wendy, a qualified counsellor and psychotherapist offering a warm, supportive, and confidential space for you to explore whatever may be going on in your life.

I work as a integrative counsellor, which means I draw on a range of therapeutic approaches, with a strong foundation in person-centred therapy. At the heart of my work is the belief that you are the expert in your own life. My role is to support you in understanding yourself more deeply, helping you to find your own way forward and make choices that feel right for you.

How I Work

I believe that a strong, trusting relationship between counsellor and client is key to effective therapy. I aim to create a safe, non-judgemental space where you feel comfortable to talk openly and honestly about your emotions, thoughts, feelings, and experiences.

Our sessions will move at your pace, giving you the time and space to explore what matters most to you. Together, we can work towards developing coping strategies, building emotional resilience, setting healthy boundaries, and creating a greater sense of balance in your life.

Sessions

I offer counselling sessions online in a safe and confidential environment, allowing you to access support from the comfort of your own space.

Areas I Can Support You With

I have experience working with a wide range of issues, including:

Bereavement and loss, including miscarriage and child loss
Anxiety and depression
Medical diagnoses and health-related concerns
Suicidal thoughts and intrusive self-harm thoughts
Low self-esteem and confidence
Anger and emotional regulation
Relationship difficulties
Autism and ADHD
And other personal or emotional challenges
Menopause: both medical and natural causes
And much more

Reaching out can feel like a big step, but you dont have to go through things alone. If you would like to know more or have any questions, please feel free to get in touch. I will respond as soon as I can and will be happy to help.

Experience

Experience

Alongside developing my private practice, I have volunteered with a number of charities, providing counselling support to both children and adults, often working with individuals with complex needs who may not otherwise have access to therapy due to financial barriers.

I completed voluntary training with Evolve, supporting individuals experiencing a range of mental health challenges, including depression, bereavement, addiction, ADHD, menopause, autism, relationship difficulties, and work-related concerns.

I also trained with Place2Be, where I worked with primary school children on both a one-to-one and group basis, supporting their emotional wellbeing within the school environment.

In addition, I volunteered with The Charlies Angel Foundation, working with individuals affected by pregnancy and infant loss, including miscarriage, the loss of a child at any age, and both elective and medically necessary terminations. This work has given me valuable experience in supporting clients through profound grief and loss.

Initial Consultation

First Session

Our first session will include an initial assessment, giving us the opportunity to begin building a therapeutic relationship, which is an essential foundation for our work together.

This session is also a space for you to ask any questions you may have. I will gently invite you to share a little about your life and the challenges you are currently experiencing. This helps us to gain a clearer understanding of your needs and explore how we can work together moving forward.

Together, we will consider the most appropriate approach for your therapy and how I can best support you throughout your journey.

My fees are £60 for a 50-minute session together
